Great news that BHM Diana and Natasha Pembroke-Birss place second in the Working Hunter Class at Sydney Royal!!!

Added to BHM Diana’s success she placed 4th with Emma Rayner on board in the Ridden Open Show Hunter Pony.

I had a great couple of days in Cowra, NSW the week of 11 March 2024, where I caught up with Helen Blomquist after many years, and met Liz and Leigh Winkle. I am thrilled to announce that BHM Spanish Ninja has been purchased by Liz and Leigh!

Perfect homes are what every breeder hopes for and Ninja is going to his perfect home!!!

GOODBYE OLLIE

On 29 February 2024 we said goodbye to Ollie.

Ollie first came to BHM as a 2yr old to keep Galero company. Once he finished this job, Ollie then went on to teach many children to ride and love ponies.

At 22yrs of age Ollie had a very full life! The photos are a very small celebration of his life.

Now you can eat all the grass you want Ollie! Say hello to Galero for me Ollie!!!

HABANERO XLI (Dec) FROZEN SEMEN HAS ARRIVED IN AUSTRALIA

I am excited to announce that frozen semen has arrived in Australia for the black Calificado stallion - HABANERO XLI (dec)

Habanero XLI was a true representative of the Spanish horse whose pedigree is based on the Military bloodlines. He excelled in conformation, functionality and dressage in Spain and the UK.

This beautiful stallion is known to some Aussie breeders already. He is now available to all Australian breeders wanting to use a true champion!!

Cariñoso BOT II frozen Semen arriving in Australia in February 2024

Whilst in Spain I met the owner of the beautiful Spanish stallion Cariñoso BOT II, who now resides in England. I have purchased frozen semen which will arrive in Australia early February 2024. I am excited to use him over my Poeta Du Suaeta filly, BHM Simply Irresistible. Exciting times a head!!!

VISIT TO SEE BHM NINJA

Kirsten and myself drove to Cowra to see the progress of BHM Spanish Ninja and we were not disappointed. Megan Bryant is do a fabulous job and it was great to see Ninja happy, healthy and progress so well.

SUMMER SCORCHER MINITURE SHOW BUNGENDOE 20 JAN 2021

I had a fabulous day today judging the miniature horses at the Summer Scorcher Show, Bungendore. I love judging Mini’s! Thank you Kirsten Jane for being my entertaining ring steward. The exhibitors loved you! Many beautiful horses!

Galero's daughter, PDC KESTRIL, born on 21 November, 2023.

Galero would be so proud of his daughter, PDC Kestril who was born on 21 November 2023. PDC Kestril is out of PDC Feliz who is by Utrerano VII (the sire of Olympic horse Fuego). PDC Kestril will be retained by her owner/breeder Julia Roso.

SICAB 2023

Well I can tick SICAB off my bucket list! Diana Harris and myself travelled Spain/SICAB with Serena and David Noon. We had such a great time and saw so many beautiful horses. Too many to list and my suitcase was not big enough to bring them home! The photos I am posting are in no order or preferences - just a summary of SICAB in conjunction with Dianas photos she posted on Facebook. I took too many photos!

Yes, Diana Harris and I did some shopping and yes, I am going to import frozen semen, but you will have to wait until I announce what stallions I have chosen!

Also, I finally met up with Naomi Vance-Webb who I have been corresponding with via Facebook, email and Messenger for the last 15 years! Naomi owned Habanero I and the UK Spanish Stud, Meadowbrook. Habanero was the very first Spanish stallion I imported frozen semen into Australia many years ago and although we were not lucky enough to have a Habanero baby, I still loved the stallion. It was so good to catch up with Naomi and I was privileged to meet the UK contingency.

I meet Poeta De Susaeta in person during my trip to SICAB this year!

Although I met Poeta De Susaeta back in 2013 when I first saw him as a young horse, I finally had to chance to meet him again some 10yrs later when I visited Yeguada Susaeta in November as part of my trip to SICAB. I just fell in love with him again! He is so beautiful and has the most gentle nature. BHM Black Panther definitely takes after his dad!

BHM Black Elegancia

I know I was going to retire but I am so please with my colt, BHM Black Panther that I just had to try for a filly. So even though his dam, BHM Black Elegancia (Elli) is 21 yrs old, she is definitely healthy enough to carry another foal. Infact Elli is that healthy she went into foal with frozen semen from Poeta de Susaeta the first insemination! Elli is due early September 2024. I have everything crossed for a filly!!!!

BHM Spanish Toto

BHM Spanish Toto is a 3yr old Spanish Warmblood out of BHM Koncheeta by Toto Nation De Jeu. As Toto needs to mature before she commences her ridden career, I have put her in foal to Poeta De Susaeta for a 2x Andalusian. This foal should be a powerhouse dressage prospect! Toto went into foal after the first insemination and is due early September 2024. The vets hinted the possibility of the foal being a filly! Once her foal has been weaned, Toto will go to Emma Raynor to compete in the Hack Show ring.

BHM SPANISH NINJA commences his ridden career with MEGAN BRYANT.

BHM Spanish Ninja is now commencing his ridden career with Megant Bryant from Cowra. Megan is one of our young and upcoming successful dressage riders and competed successfully in eventing when she was younger. Megan breeds her own horses with her mother Jenny Bryant and last year won the 4yr old Dressage With the Stars Young Horse on her home bred horse. Megan has trained and competed Grand Priz. I am excited about Megan training BHM Spanish Ninja as she is such a kind, patient rider.

BHM Spanish Ninja is a 4yr old Spanish/Welsh pony measuring 14.2hh. He is a full brother to BHM Diana.

BHM Diana joined the family of Natasha Pemroke-Birss and 10yr old daughter Minnie. If the short time they have owned her, Diana and Minnie have been a force to be recon with!

It is so exciting to announce that GALERO XIV (Imp Dec) will be a father to PDC FELIZ foal in 2023.

ACTD Offical Dressage Day 29 May 2022

Awesome day at ACTD Offical Dressage Day! First starting in the fog was BHM Spanish Amor and Rebecca Walshe competing in their second Grand Prix test and what a great effort!!! This pair will only get bigger and better as they progress with their training and competition experience at this level. I am so proud of them!!!

The smile on Rebecca Walsh’s face says it all when out little pocket rocket, BHM Spanish Tolegra competed in her very first Elementary tests today at the ACTD official competition. Placing 4th in both tests with great scores this little 5yr old mare has a great future ahead of her. BHM Spanish Tolegra may be small but she has a huge heart, great work ethic and amazing potential!

BHM Spanish Bond and BHM Spanish Tolegra's first Offical Competition!

Finally a competition that was not rained out or cancelled due to COVID!! Thank you ACT Dressage Association for another fabulous competition!!

I am so proud of Rebecca Walshe and the babies, BHM Spanish Tolegra and BHM Spanish Bond, on their great performance for their very first competition! Rebecca had trained/turned these babies out beautifully and we are excited for their futures!

BHM Black Elegancia confirmed in foal to Poeta De Susaeta!

I am so thrilled to announce that BHM Black Elegancia (PRE) has just been confirmed in foal to Poeta de Susaeta!

I have everything crossed for a filly foal and have her name picked out already. This foal will 100% be black!

For those who dont know Elli, she competed very successfully offical Elementary and trained medium. She was the first PRE to compete at the prestigious Dressage With The Stars young horse classes. Elli is the dam of BHM Spanish Amor who is just about to have his first Grand Prix dressage start, BHM Spanish Bond who is training Medium, BHM By Design a successful allrounder and yearling filly, BHM El Nation. Elli is also a multi champion in led and ridden hack and AHAA shows.

Of course Poeta De Susaeta needs no introduction!

QUALIFIED/CALIFICADO. Ranked as EXCELLENT in young horse (4yo and 5yo) dressage tests. Poeta is a stallion with an impressive mind for work, works very well with his rider and also has 3 gaits of great quality.

Poeta, as a 4yo in 2016, broke the record with the highest average dressage score in history at the PRE World Championship (SICAB) with 83.80%. In 2017 he represented Spain and the PRE horse in the FEI WBFSH Young Dressage Horse World Championships in Ermelo (Holland). Reserve Champion of Spain, in the Young Horse Championship, in the 5yo category in September 2017. Poeta was the only PRE horse in the medal table! CHAMPION in the PRE World Championship (SICAB) in 2017, aged 5yo, obtaining an average of 80.5% in dressage.

In 2021 Poeta de Susaeta achieving a fifth place in the CDI4 * at CHIO AACHEN, Germany.

This foal will be Elli’s first Purebred so is very special! As Elli and frozen semen have never agreed before, this foal is meant to be.

A huge congratulations to Serena Noon from Aethereal Spanish Horse Stud on her purchase of BHM Enchantress!

Serena Noon already owns Enchantress’s dam, BHM Silver Bellachara so I am extremely excited Enchantress is going to such a great home!

By Poeta de Susaeta and a Galero XIV granddaughter, Enchantress will go in foal to Doblon frozen semen before she goes to her new home. This is going to be an amazing cross and I am so proud that BHM can help facilitateSerena’s dream.

Once BHM Enchantress has her foal she will go into work and commence the dressage career she was purpose bred for.

BHM Enchantress’s only competition was the 2021 AHAA Virtual National Show were she won Supreme Led Spanish and Supreme Ridden Spanish as well as the Ray Williams Memorial Cup for National Champion Spanish Female.

I wish Serena all the best and I am excited for the future as I commence to retire from breeding and Serena Noon begins her adventure!
